About us

Palmerston North Women’s Centre was set up around 1980 as a base for newly formed women’s groups.

In 1986 we were provided our current whare from PNCC (Palmerston North City Council) at 53 Waldegrave St.

In 2022 we are still here providing services for women in the Palmerston North/Manawatu district.

The Women’s Centre has kept its philosophy throughout the years. That is to provide a safe and comfortable space for all women (and anyone who identifies as female) and their children to come and have someone to talk with or to get resources and information.

Our front room is occupied by our resident group Te Hā o Hine-ahu-one/ Palmerston North Women’s Health Collective who provide amazing health services, and provide day to day admin to help with enquiries!
